Advice, knowledge and support in flower bulbs
HM van Haaster & Zonen BV is a well-known company in the flower bulb sector. We grow and prepare tulips, hyacinths, and daffodils ourselves. But other types of bulb plants that flower in spring are also possible. Preparing involves storing flower bulbs in a controlled environment at a specific temperature, ensuring they bloom at the consumer’s exact moment.
With our years of experience and knowledge of flower bulbs, we are always enjoy to giving sound advice to our customers. The customer is our main focus. During meetings with the customers, we discuss the bulb program for pot or cut culture. According to that program, the bulbs are prepared and shipped using various temperature treatments. In our forcing facility, we produce potted flower bulbs. We carry a wide assortment so that the retail market can offer their customers precisely the right spring bloomers.
Cultivation and export of flower bulbs
HM van Haaster is one of the few flower bulb companies in the Netherlands that both cultivate and exports. This combination provides them with the bulb market knowledge, from flower bulbs to the final product and, if necessary, allows us to respond quickly to changes within the supply chain.
The export department sells bulbs from our own nursery, but also purchases from specific growers so that the customer receives exactly the bulbs they want. We export our bulbs to approximately 10 different countries worldwide. We also specialize in programming flower bulbs for pots and cut culture for forcing companies both domestically and internationally.
We also have our own breeding facility where we mainly breed tulips that are suitable for pots.
One of our priorities is sustainability: making the flower bulb cultivation a little more sustainable every year, with an eye toward climate, water quality, diversity, and soil quality.
